Therapy Dog from Death Row Now Needs Surgery

Arrow is such an amazing dog - Please Help Us Help Her
Ourrescue group - Dirty Dog Squad - saved Arrow on Halloween 2009, the dayshe was scheduled to be put down at the South LA City Shelter. Arrowwas emaciated, filthy, malnourished, fly strikes, fleas, covered inskin tumors but gentle and sweet - somehow dumped by her owners - butwith an old soul we knew was special. She was spayed, had tumorsremoved, and nursed back to health. She's gained 20 lbs and now sports agorgeous lush coat of fur - looks and acts more wolf than shepherd. Shewas adopted by Libby, a dialysis patient who had recently lost her dogof 14years. They immediately became best friends. Arrow's special giftand spirit saved Libby from her deep sadness - and Libby's love andpatience brought the playful and trusting part of Arrow out after hertragic years of neglect. Sadly, we discovered mammary tumors on Arrow-and there's a 50% chance its malignant. We are a very smallindependent rescue group and we are sponsoring the surgery for Libbywho is on disability and unable to afford it due to her medicalcondition, but her veterinary bills have taken a financial toll on oursmall group. We are reaching out to the community to help support ourmission and make wonderful stories like Arrow and Libby come true forother people and pets.
