Harry's Veterinary Bills

Harry is such a sad gentle guy - a young Shepherd we rescued from the Downey shelter - he was found as a stray on the streets - alone, terrified, malnourished - so shy and wary of the world. His routine kennel cough has taken a serious turn for the worse - he now has pneumonia - and is on two powerful antibiotics. He's holding his own, but he's still very weak - he can barely walk and short of breath.He spends all day in the isolation ward - alone. I go by everyday to let him sit out in the sun and sniff the grass- encouraging him to be strong - and telling him that as soon as he is better we will find him a good and safe home - with a soft dog bed, toys, good food, and maybe even his only special spot on the couch.He has amazing sad, old soul eyes - they make you want to comfort him with a huge hug.Harry cowers when he hears loud noises, and ducks when you reach to pet him - who knows what horrible cruelties he suffered to be so afraid now- we just want him to get better so he can become the big proud dog he was meant to be.Harry's vet bills are adding up fast - and they wiped out the slim financial reserves of our small non-profit rescue group.Harry needs your support to help pay his vet bills.Please visit our website -www.dirtydogsquad.org - to find out more about Harry and our group.
